"Todavia es tiempo'' (It's still time) foundation works with around 250 families in vulnerable situation in Paso del Rey, Buenos Aires, providing trainings in fields such as carpentry, ceramics, bakery, chocolate and production of artisan jams with the aim of generating job opportunities for women in the community. Currently the spaces allocated to these workshops are insufficient. This project involves the construction of a new 600 m2 building.
The Paso del Rey neighborhood in Buenos Aires faces many social problems and families there are in a highly-vulnerable situation, with problems of violence, drug use, malnutrition, overcrowding and lack of employment. In this context, "Todavia es tiempo" provides training to generate job opportunities. Currently the spaces allocated to these trainings are insufficient given the growing needs of families in the community. In this way, it becomes necessary to expand the workspaces.
The project consists of the construction of a 600 m2 space in various stages, in order to be able to move and promote the Ceramics, Carpentry and Gastronomy ventures, and in the future add new ventures for the community. By generating this new space, it will also bring the possibility of increasing the amount of women attending those trainings, so more families will be benefited.
This initiative seeks to improve the quality of life of women living in Paso del Rey by increasing their access to training and job opportunities. Over the long term, this is expected to benefit these people's families both personally and financially. The new construction will be owned by "Todavia es tiempo", meaning that the foundation can continue to serve the local community for years to come.
