Dear Friends,
We’re deeply grateful for your ongoing support. Your contributions to this campaign are truly transforming the lives of internally displaced girls in Syria, paving the way for a new generation of strong and confident women!
At Project Soar, our mission is to empower girls to become the leaders of today and tomorrow. How do we achieve this? Through the incredible dedication and hard work of our Empowerment Facilitators! Our facilitators are local women who live in the same communities where the program operates. This means they face the same challenges brought on by traditional, conservative customs as the teen girls do. Having grown up in the same environment and sharing the same culture, they deeply understand the girls’ struggles and are able to guide them through the program.
Today, we’re excited to share the inspiring journey of Amina, one of our beloved Facilitators in Syria. Amina’s journey with Project Soar has been as transformative for her as it has been for the girls she empowers. She shared:
“I followed the workshops with my fellow facilitators and the girls, and their impact was like light breaking through the darkness of traditions and customs that weighed on my life as a woman. I felt like a prisoner in a glass cage: able to see everything, but too afraid to step out. Attending these workshops shattered that cage, opening new doors to life for me.”
It’s truly inspiring to witness the incredible impact Project Soar has on the lives of these young women. We are so grateful to have such strong allies by our side, and we remain committed to making a positive difference for everyone who joins us in our mission. Stories like Amina’s remind us just how important our work is:
“Through every workshop, I found guidance in different aspects of my life. I realized that, despite my age, I had missed out on many experiences and knowledge in my youth—things I am now discovering through Project Soar.”
Empowered women empower women… and girls! We are so thrilled to see this positive transformation in our facilitators. Stay tuned for more inspiring stories from these incredible women, and never doubt the impact you're making!
With gratitude,
The Project Soar Team
