Heavy rainfall with long days caused heavy flooding and landslides in late october in Nepal. Mid hills districts of Bagmati Provnce are seriously affected by heavy flooding and landslides where highway road and bridges were damaged and collapsed. Many agriculture land deposited by sand and gravel. Community settlement were damaged and many more missing/dead. Still the people have not been recovery yet. In this regards MRC Nepal staffs organized affected people in group and treated as socio psycho counselling to heal and free from stress.
In this reporting quarter December 2024 to February 2025, as a long run income generation opportunities, MRC Nepal provided skill enhancement capacity building training on fresh vegetable poduction. As a starter MRC Nepal supported seeds of improved crop and varities, production materials, bio pesticide making training for organic vegetable production. As a result majority of the affected people are abled to produce organic vegetable in their garden which generate attractive income and meet the kitchen requirement of vegetable. This interventions support balance diet in nutrition and food security of the poor household.
At the end affected beneficiaries are so pleased with the support and thanked to GlobalGiving Donor and MRC Nepal.
