Rural projects continue work towards improving the lives of the children and people with disabilities. ReJenga continues to empower people in rural communities and continues to tie up with communities. ReJenga has established a program, where by the, community clinic workers are getting trained to be able to provide rehabilitation skills with training.

The rehabilitation services for the children with disability open 6 days in week from where the
children with disability received Physiotherapy, Special education , multisensory Therapy ,
Basic speech therapy and life skill training provided. Every day average 15 children attend the
centre and get their require services which determine after the assessment and discussion
with the parents. We involve the parents from the beginning as a equal partner of their
children development programme. And make them empowered to take responsibility when
there are in home.
The parents visit the centre who were identified by our field officer during their survey and
also from the referral from community health centers, ICDS centers and by the ASHA
Workers. Our field officer make regular interaction with them to keep the liaison.
When children come to our center with the parents after visiting various medical doctors and
other, they are completely confused and stressed about their child future. Our therapist make
some session of counseling to make the parents understand the problem of their child and
possible solution. It takes some time for the parents to understand but ultimately they find the
way with the counseling and interaction of other parents. Our professional makes them
understand the process of development and achievement of milestone both physical and
cognitive. And show them the small achievements made by their child during the session and
help the mother to motivate.
The individualized programme showing the improvement in the overall development of the children. Parents empowered and motivate to the future improvement of their child andunderstand the rights of their children. The children also included in the school and enrolled in the scheme provided by the government.

Some children are in sever conditions and they belongs to very poor family. The family priority
need is to arrange food clothe and shelter where the need of their disabled child is not in
priority need of the family. In this case we faced very challenging to keep them in very regular
contact with the centre and the rehabilitation programme.

The outcomes:The programme running in the Panskura Centre which directly impact in the life of 46 children
with disabilities and their Families. As per the present scenario the rehabilitation centre for the
children with disability mainly situated in cities like Kolkata. But our 70 % population lived in
the rural area where there are no services for the children with disabilities. In this case Asha
Bhavan Centre with the support of ReJenga running the Centre in a remote location around
90 Km from Howrah. The project gives benefit to the children of Pansklura Block and its
Adjacent block. With our Support the children showing significant improving in their Physical
and cognitive development and Parents get relief from their mental Stress. Parents are
directly involved and they are trained to manage their child at home. The community
awareness increased about the Person with disabilities and the Myths area removing from the
