Things are moving ahead rapidly with the planned Awakening Leadership Training, starting in September. Right now we have alot of interest for participants from Myanmar and Thailand, so we hope that we can provide enough scholarship support to have these youth leaders attend our program.
We are still in preparation stage. One of the activities during the preparation has been exploring sites for module 20: Vision Quest. This draws on indigenous American tradition, and is a ceremony-based practice to help people make meaningful and significant transitions in their life. As a wilderness-based 'rights of passage', the practice will entail spending 3 days solo in a forest without food and only a tent for shelter. This helps to bring renewed connections and healing through the closeness of nature.
Our friends Oshi and monk Jake took an exploratory trip to find a suitable site for the module. They walked 10kms to the site through old growth forest, and rain. The site is in Northern Thailand, under the mountain and national park, Doi Inthanon. You can check out the photos to see the magic of this environment. Come and join us for a life-changing experience in the beautiful mountain landscape in Northern Thailand in January, 2019. (dates 5-11 Jan, 2019).
