Awakening Leadership Training is a 6 month empowerment training based in Thailand that weaves inner transformation and societal understanding with techniques for community building and effective mindful leadership. It provides space for dialogue, reflection and contemplation on the deep questions facing humanity and our planet. We will support 5 young changemakers from diverse backgrounds from Southeast Asia to join this program , to cultivate a new leadership for future generations.
As a region rich in natural resources and indigenous cultures, Southeast Asia is vulnerable to the ecological and cultural destruction inherent in the current system. Without exploring the root causes and the interconnected nature of these problems that manifest within ourselves, and across society, we will be forever seeking temporary fixes rather than sustainable solutions. An Awakened Leader is able to face such challenges through self-awareness, holistic thinking, and compassion.
The 6 month ALT program draws on new science and indigenous wisdom, intellectual and hands-on work to empower the Awakened Leader in each young changemaker. Integral to our approach are new forms of learning through self-awareness and structural awareness, cultivated in parallel to equip each participant with skills for self-cultivation, and an holistic lens to understand the social, ecological, political and economic challenges of today.
Built on a foundation of trust, this learning process is fully inclusive and participatory, and based on over 30 years deep experience in Southeast Asia where it has been applied in conflict regions and with marginalized communities. Graduates are principled, and step forward with new passion, becoming facilitators & educators, social entrepreneurs, farmers, community organisers. They are able to look beyond the same mindsets and systems that have created the multiple crises we are facing now.
