In Saslem district, women are highly vulnerable for bonded labour system and informal work system. At work place they are highly exploited. They are unable to pay their loan dues even if they work day and night. hence their families are continuously being in the vicious cycle of poverty. Rural Women Development Trust tries to change their lives by giving awareness and supporting them to start self entrepreneurships.
To develop women as successful entrepreneur in coir making, there is need of knowledge to handle the financial matters. So the 30 women of first batch was given financial literacy training. In this three days trianing the women were taught the importance of thrift-savings, writing daily accounts, stock maintaining, bank transfer, using ATM and other digital transfer methods. Also the women were given exposure in local bank to understand the process.
Outcomes:
30 women are having confident in the financial matters.
30 women are supported to start self entreprenurship.
The children of these families enjoys their childhood rights.
The girl children of these families are supported to continue higher education.
