UZIMA WOMEN PROGRESS REPORT DEC 2017 Executive Director visited the project in Kenya during the month of November 2017. There was considerable progress by the women. An additional 100 women had been reached in both Western and Eastern provinces. A total of 300 women have been reached. The project continues to benefit women groups taking care of vulnerable families in Kenya. As more women become knowledgeable, whole communities are gaining more information to improve health, nutrition and education. The Director attended one formal workshop held in Bungoma town attended by women from all parts of Kenya. Director visited individual projects by groups of women as well as individuals. The projects emphasized better health and improved nutrition through better farming methods, better hygiene and initiating income generating projects. SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES Training and Empowerment Worshop in Bungoma stressed the following: Alleviate poverty in Kenya and promote wellness to the vulnerable (access to medical care, good nutrition, quality education). Empower women Support grass root group(organizations) Support HIV/AIDS orphaned children and other vulnerable children Offer Human Rights Education. This includes, educating women to know their rights e.g. when they become widowed, what they are do. Increase access to medical care Contribute to income generating activities. Promote gender equality to ensure the boy child does not start to remain behind as more emphasis is placed on the girl child.
