We are thrilled to share exciting updates on the progress of the Green Action Project since our last report. With your ongoing support, we have continued to make strides towards empowering young leaders in Ghana to champion environmental sustainability.
Key Updates:
Green Action Project Launched:
On August 1st, 2024, we successfully launched the Green Action Project virtually, bringing together over 40 participants. The launch marked the official start of the initiative, setting the stage for the impactful activities ahead.
158 Applications Received:
The call for applications has garnered tremendous interest, with a total of 158 young people across Ghana applying to participate. We are in the process of selecting the participants, and the final list of selected individuals will be announced soon. Their enthusiasm is a testament to the growing interest in climate action and leadership among youth.
Green Action Summit Website Launched:
We are excited to announce the official launch of the Green Action Summit website, www.greenactionsummit.com. This platform will serve as a hub for information about the summit and the Green Action Project. A big thank you to GlobalGiving and all of you—our incredible donors—for making this a reality!
German Interns Have Arrived in Ghana:
We are pleased to welcome two of our three expert interns from Germany, who arrived on Friday, September 19th, 2024. They will be working with us until December 2024, supporting the implementation of both the Green Action Project and the Green Action Summit. Their expertise and dedication will play a critical role in the success of these initiatives. We look forward to welcoming our third intern on November 10th, 2024. All volunteers are fully sponsored by Engagement Global’s ASA Program, funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
Challenges:
While we’ve made significant progress, securing sufficient funding remains a key challenge. Several potential partners have shown interest in collaborating with us, but their support has primarily been focused on providing expertise rather than financial backing. We continue to seek financial partnerships to ensure the full scope of the project is realized.
