College is the dot that connects school students with universities, the transitional phase in which the students are taught and groomed to achieve their academic dreams. I found college education to be most challenging because it demanded more focus with the anxiety of the future, whether I could make it to my dream university or not.
Colleges, in general, face challenges in the form of competition from other institutions because students and their parents like to opt for the best college that would help decide the fate of their academic goals. But Khadija Girls College faces the unique challenge of instilling interest and hope in young girls who belong to less-privileged families to dream big, get higher education and raise their standard of living by all means.
So far, we have successfully stirred the interest to pursue higher education in the young girls of Korangi and adjacent backward areas. The fact that many of our students have made it to the universities has encouraged many more young girls and their parents to believe that this is an achievable goal. If other girls in their surroundings can do that, so can they.
Two hundred and Seven new admissions for the new session is a significant achievement; all the credit goes to the college's management and faculty.
A trip to the Mohatta Palace
College education demands more focus; that's why students get overwhelmed by the pressure of studies. We frequently take field trips to keep the students fresh and active and groom their personalities for the practical world. Mohatta Palace is one of the historical landmarks of Karachi. This visit was an extension of their History lessons and a sort of introduction to the grand architectural style of the sub-continent of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, which was a fusion of European, Victorian, Gothic and Mughal elements. The girls were super happy and excited to visit a real-life palace.
