The last few months have seen a dramatic change to the lives of people all over the world due to the COVID 19 pandemic, and this is also true for all of us at Prithipura Communities. We have been on lockdown for 3 months now – no-one is entering in or leaving our premises and all our essentials are being delivered. We are pleased to report that we remain healthy, happy and safe. This includes the babies and toddlers who live with us, who continue to grow and thrive.
Our days continue with the usual routines and there is always time for fun and laughter. Our youngest have particularly enjoyed splashing around in the pool on a sunny morning and they have also got creative in the schoolroom with Priyanka, our nursery teacher.
We can’t go out but have celebrated birthdays and key religious festivals on-site and ensured that everyone is included. This week, Eleesha turned two and we celebrated with a party and cake for everyone. Eleesha came to the Infants Home as a small baby and her carers are delighted at her continued progress.
Prithipura Communities has always had a spirit of togetherness and this has been enhanced by the current crisis. Our team of carers do what they do to care for and protect the vulnerable. They are aware more than ever of how vital their work is. They support those they care for as well as each other. Daily acts of kindness and helping each other will ensure we continue to thrive.
A drop in local donations that provided our daily needs such as food, medicines, and other essentials has been very worrying, but we have been heartened with the support for this that has come from far and wide. So far, we have weathered the storm both health-wise and financially and we remain ever thankful for this. We know that many of you have already donated to our COVID-19 appeal. If you would like to contribute towards our essential costs for June, you can do so here:
Thank you for your donations as well as your kind words of support – it means the world to us.
