4th Report on provision of sewing skill
By Bonnie Mendes | Project Leader
Dear Friends, The centers opened by SHD Pakistan in 3 villages (Jaffa colony, Hanif Coloy and Qadirabad) of District Toba Tek Singh are running successfully. The girls from the village are very happy as know they have learnt many techniques and are now practising hard to master it.
Most of the girls and women enrolled in these sewing centers are extremely poor and they either work as house maids or belong to the families of domestic servants. The total 75 girls and women are enrolled in Sewing Centers. Thanks to a donation of USD 2145 through GlobalGiving, the centers have been established and are running successfully.
Unfortunately,There has been a technical issue faced by SHD, which has delayed the process of equiping the sewing center with more machines. There has been a certain changes in the policies which has delayed the extension of the project. The new Government is trying to resolve the issues and we hope it will be ok in the next coming quarter.
Overall, the beneficiaries are very happy that they soon will start earning after passing out from the center. The dedicated team of SHD is checking the centers quite regularly. We request all our friends and supporters to keep supporting the project.
