This year, the state of Kerala has experienced its worst monsoon season since 1924. The severe flooding and landslides affected over 5 million people and displaced over 1.4 million people. Thanks to your support, emergency relief was provided to over 2,000 households!
ActionAid’s work is not over in Kerala. Since October, ActionAid has focused efforts on recovery. In order to meet humanitarian needs and provide communities with lasting stability, ActionAid is supporting communities as they rebuild – both their infrastructure and livelihoods.
ActionAid’s team is comprised of local community members and staff. They are actively building improved shelters, regenerating the agriculture sector, and providing small grants so that people may rebuild their communities and livelihoods. 30 shelters have been completed and more water tanks and purifiers are to be distributed. However, there is still much to be done.
With your support, ActionAid was able to provide relief services to thousands of individuals. In order to provide resources to even more communities and help them recover, we need to raise more support funding.
Thank you for your support, it has a huge impact.
