Thanks to the support of generous people like you, survivors in Kerala are receiving urgently-needed mattresses, clothes and hygiene kits in relief camps TODAY.
At ActionAid, staff are from the country in which they work - and this makes a huge difference. Our Indian colleagues have a deep understanding of the area, the resources available, the language of the community, and collaborate with the government and other non-profits. In an emergency, our model of locally-rooted leadership saves time, resources, and ultimately lives.
We’re working to reach 45,000 people over the next few weeks in the most affected and most isolated districts – but we still need to raise more funds to make this happen.
