There is nowhere safe in Gaza. After 8 months of displacement, destruction, and starvation, Palestinians in Gaza were ordered to shelter in the southernmost point of the Gaza Strip in Rafah. With 1.7 million people displaced and over 30,000 killed, over a million people are on the verge of famine, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have had their homes destroyed, and thousands of children have lost their entire families. As of May, Israel has ordered the evacuation of Rafah, and been leading airstrikes, attacking refugee camps. There is nowhere left for the people of Gaza to turn to.

Anera has been serving Palestinians since 1968, and our team in Gaza is working tirelessly to meet the immediate needs of those displaced. Since October Anera’s team in Gaza has delivered many millions of humanitarian relief items. Anera has provided over 26 million meals, hundreds of thousands of water bottles, thousands of mattresses, tents and blankets, and hundreds of psychosocial support sessions. Anera is also hosting free medical and wound clinics to take some of the burden off of Gaza’s healthcare system that has almost completely collapsed.

Through the enormous losses and damage from the conflict, our team in Gaza gives us hope. Our team is dedicated to helping the people of Gaza, their own neighbors and community, to survive this conflict, and rebuild prosperous communities.
