600 People Helped and Counting

By Amber Bauer | CEO

PROJECT REPORT I

Headline

Thanks to each of your generosity and kindness, our campaign has raised an incredible £4371 so far to provide clothes packs (approximately £7 each) to more than 600 people in need. The clothes have been bought locally in Bosnia & Herzegovina, helping a troubled local economy whilst also making your money go further. Each pack was bought and distributed by our incredible on-the-ground grassroots partner, No Name Kitchen.

We cannot thank you enough for your continued support of this campaign and the difference made to each person receiving the dignity of a set of new clothes.

Lived Experience

One young man in Bosnia says of No Name Kitchen’s distributions and support -

“Being stuck in borders is the worsest experience, you will face harshness, violence and push back from many kilometres away that they spend to cross it even 10 or more days. But the donations are always humanitarian and shows the value of solidarity among people. In here on behalf of all my friends and refugees I should express my infinite appreciation to those whom try to do their humanitarian responsibility. And yes, it’s the responsibility of all human being that help each other.”

From our Inspiring Grassroots Partner - No Name Kitchen

Bosnian Co-Ordinator, Ricardo Fernandez from Spain, says -

From the camps in the north of Bosnia, that is the places closest to where most of the people migrating are now in Bosnia, is like 10-11 days’ walking to Slovenia. So it’s something ultra hard. It’s like an iron man, but more physical. The situation is quite horrible even though I would like to say more beautiful words. The situation is chaotic. There is a lot of persecution from police – special police and border police. There is a movement to reject the migrant, criminalise the migrant, and at the end not treating people like humans really, treating people like they are a problem, not people with needs.

“So THANK YOU for Donate4Refugees that have been supporting us now for a long time. For us it’s important to have the confidence of others and to feel that together we are stronger and that’s really the only way we can move the things – cooperating, finding synergies, pulling resources together. Thank you.”
