Hi friends & supporters,
Our support in The Balkans region of Europe continues, with your help. We really couldn't do it without you and are truly grateful for your support.
Our inspiring local partners show up every day to help people who are on the move through the region. People who continue to unjustly face immense hardship and hostility at every turn. People just like Aryan...
"This week we met Aryan in the train station. A 19 years old man from Kabul (Afghanistan). He had already travelled through Turkey and Bulgaria, and then Serbia, Bosnia and finally, to Croatia, where he is now. He remarked that while in Zagreb, he was detained and sent to a detention center where he was locked up without explanation. After six days he was released and was forced to sign a paper stating that he is owing 1.700 euros for the costs of accommodation. Aryan is now sleeping in a platform by the train station. The place is humid and rainy. Aryan dreams of reaching Germany to study computer engineering. We hope he can find a safe place to build his own destiny." ~ No Name Kitchen
We have most recently funded a new field project providing practical help and aid in the form of tents, clothes and first aid to the place where No Name Kitchen met Aryan.
As always, my enormous thank you to everyone donating to forRefugees, it means we can continue supporting human rights and meeting humanitarian needs in The Balkans. We continue our fight for humanity, not hostility, towards people who've become refugees and come to Europe in hope of safety and a future and are very grateful to you for being here with us.
In solidarity with people who've become refugees,
Amber & all at forRefugees
