Over the last two months, we have helped a local restaurant prepare and distribute over 32,500 meals in Kamala. We began by giving out about 650 meals per day and have gradually decreased to 350 meals per day during the last few weeks. As Thailand has now moved into the third phase of easing restrictions, more people were able to get back to work, decreasing the number of people in need for free meals.
Throughout this period, we have helped hundreds of families in the local community. Your support has been the hugely helpful to this cause.
With the easing of the restrictions, children will soon be able to go back to schools where the Government provides for their nutrition, and similarly their parents have now the chance to start working again and provide for their families.
Every day for the last two months, we had about 15 to 20 staff and volunteers who helped packing and distributing the meals under any weather conditions. Thank you so much for supporting their work for the community during this terrible global crisis. Local restaurants are now able to run their business again and we are therefore closing our fundraising for this cause.
We hope you will keep supporting our educational projects for disadvantaged children in Phuket.
Thank you for everything and we look forward to sending you more updates about our programmes!
