Kenya, East Africa Emergency Food Distribution

I’m writing to share two good news stories.

First, we have started a weekend girls' club at Kijiji Mission for teenage girls within our surrounding community. A few of the girls that we currently sponsor in high school with school fees, free uniforms, books, and school supplies now come to our facility on Saturdays to study beginning computer training under Daisy, a former student who has stayed on with us as staff, and trains our own students in our computer room every afternoon. The teenagers are very eager to be given this rare opportunity. They also take home a weekly food hamper to Mom, containing enough food to get their family through the week. It’s common for their single mothers to not have enough food to give their children one meal daily. We’re currently sponsoring fifteen students. Unfortunately, most live too far from our project to take advantage of this opportunity.

My other good news is that coming up this July 10th, GlobalGiving will have one of its best matching funds campaigns of the year.
