Project Overview:
The Emergency Assistance in East of DRC project was launched in response to the ongoing conflict in the eastern provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), particularly in Goma, Bukavu, and Ituri. The project aims to provide immediate support to the most vulnerable groups, including children, women, people with disabilities, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and refugees who are suffering as a result of the escalating violence from armed groups. Our focus is to deliver life-saving aid such as food, shelter, medical care, and psychosocial support to those in dire need.
Acknowledgment of Support:
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our donors for their generous contributions to this critical project. Your support has allowed us to respond to the urgent needs of vulnerable communities, offering hope and relief to those affected by the ongoing crisis in eastern DRC. Without your contributions, many of these families and individuals would have been left without assistance during this difficult time. Your partnership makes it possible for us to continue our work and provide much-needed emergency aid in a region devastated by conflict.
Current Situation and Continued Need:
The situation in Goma, Bukavu, and Ituri provinces remains dire as the ongoing conflict has forced thousands of people to flee their homes. Women, children, and people with disabilities are particularly vulnerable, facing heightened risks of violence, exploitation, and abuse. Internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees are struggling to survive in overcrowded camps and makeshift shelters, lacking access to basic necessities like food, clean water, and medical care. The need for emergency assistance is more critical than ever, and we continue to work tirelessly to provide life-saving support to those who need it most.
Ongoing Efforts and Future Goals:
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we have been able to deliver essential aid to thousands of individuals. Our efforts include distributing food, providing emergency medical services, setting up temporary shelters, and offering mental health support to help survivors cope with the trauma of war. However, the crisis is far from over, and we remain committed to expanding our reach and providing continued assistance. We are in constant need of more resources to scale up our response, especially as the conflict persists and more people are displaced.
Conclusion:
The need for emergency assistance in the east of DRC is urgent, and we are incredibly grateful for the support we have received so far. However, there is still much work to be done. The situation remains unstable, and the most vulnerable—particularly children, women, people with disabilities, and displaced families—continue to suffer. With your continued support, we can make a meaningful difference in their lives, providing the help and hope they need to rebuild and recover from this devastating conflict.
