This project provides emergency assistance to 4156 displaced children, including 2263 girls and 1893 boys from KIGONZE IDPs site. This project will set up school canteens, mental health and recreational activities in child-friendly spaces. 1837 girls will be assisted in dignity kits. 100 children will be trained in vocational trades. This project improves living conditions of children and adolescents affected by crisis, ensuring their protection and strengthening their resilience capacities.
The devastating effects of natural disasters and armed conflicts are causing mass displacement of more than 5.7 million people within the country (DRC), highest number on African continent according to OCHA's humanitarian response plan. And it's mainly in North Kivu and Ituri. Children are the most affected, followed by pregnant and lactating women by these attacks. 1519031 children are affected by severe acute malnutrition. This project will reach 4156 children at the KIGONZE IDP site in Bunia.
RUPFA with its partners APDEF and FEDYPROS want throuth this project : - provides food to malnourished displaced children, - provides psychosocial support to children - implements recreational activities in child-friendly areas - distribute dignity kits to displaced girls in urgent need - supervise and prepare children aged 16 to 17 for professional trades - implements awareness-raising sessions on cross-cutting protection (sexual exploitation and abuse, gender-based violences, etc.)
