With the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, hope is on the horizon, but the aftermath leaves communities in Lebanon facing displacement, trauma, and disrupted education. We are continuing our response through Peace and Solidarity: Empowering Youth in Crisis to foster unity, provide mental health support, and equip schoolgirls with the skills they need to rebuild their lives and contribute to their communities.
Bombings, displacement, and school closures will leave children and youth without stability or safe spaces to learn. Long-standing religious and political divisions will deepen mistrust and fuel tensions between host communities and displaced families. Many young people will continue to face gaps in education and struggle with the psychological toll of trauma.
We are working with IMS to empower youth through peacebuilding training, mental health support, and essential soft skills. Programs will promote social cohesion, teach conflict resolution, and counter misinformation. Young women will gain leadership, communication, and career-readiness skills. Community action initiatives will enable youth to apply their learning and create meaningful change in their communities.
This initiative will equip girls with the tools to heal, foster unity, and lead their communities toward peace. By empowering young women, we will help them thrive in education and future careers, creating resilient leaders. The program will promote acceptance of diversity, strengthen mental well-being, and build a foundation for a peaceful and cohesive Lebanon, ensuring brighter futures for all.
