The education project is already working in the center and today we want to tell you about Kiara.
She is an 11-year-old girl who has cerebral palsy which makes it difficult for her to move half of her body, but that does not prevent her from attending school. We have known Kiara since she was 3 years old, she was initially in the nursery where she was prepared so she could enter a regular school. She currently receives physical therapy and participates in the Inclusive Education project.
The Inclusive Education Project works in Wasi Hope since 2017 and when Kiara was included, she was already in 3rd Year of primary education, but could not read or count. Her teacher did not know how to work with her so she only attended a school, but did not receive education.
Today she already knows how to read and understands what she reads, can do simple addition and subtraction and can already write a little. Kiara's family decided to change her school and she likes to go because she has many friends. Her new teacher tries to work with her according to her ability and has the support of the project psychologist to reinforce what she does.
This is one of the cases where investing in a better education will allow her to have more opportunities as an adult.
