Thank you to everyone that donated to EFA in our first ever fundraiser! Your patronages have enabled us to facilitate the education of our now over 450 students across 20 different classes. Despite these unprecedented times, we have grown as an organization and as a family, supporting each other as we familiarize ourselves with the world we will lead. As COVID-19 continues to spread, the future has never felt so unpredictable. These are challenging times for us all, and we hope you’re in good spirits and health! Right now, we’re doing everything possible to sustain daily operations and provide services to our students. Our marketing team has consistently designed awareness posts for the recent Black Lives Matter movement as well as the seriousness of COVID-19. Specifically, we have addressed the issues of racism, cultural misrepresentation, and diversity in education; ultimately calling for a change via Instagram posts and our website’s blog.
Throughout these past few months, we have expanded our organization, creating a new program: EDGE Mentorship (Emotional Development Guarantees Excellence). This mentorship program focuses on assisting underprivileged students at our Jiangxi school (who are orphans, have abusive families, are impoverished and often famished, etc.) develop healthily by learning soft skills such as emotional management, ambition, and leadership. The program will equip underprivileged students with assets that will bring an infinite amount of returns, while also providing academic scholarships to the students.
While there’s a lot of uncertainty, we know that we need to adapt fast to our changing reality. Now, more than ever, our students need us. And we need you. As we all stay strong during these times, we also have to give back and remember that there are individuals that have it worse than us. In the last week of July, EFA will be hosting another fundraiser on GlobalGiving to help fund the education of our 450+ students and provide adequate protection against the spread of COVID-19. Please consider telling your friends and family about our project—you can share on social media, or just bring us up in conversation. Sharing with your community why you chose to support our organization will help us increase our impact. Thank you again for your patronages!
