Shib Sankar Sishu Niketan, organised by Amara Sabai for children from disadvantaged backgrounds in the Sundarbans, a remote part of the country, has 150 pupils this year. The academic year began in January, and the school is working on a regular timetable.
By this point, the first terminal exam had been administered, and the assessment was completed.
In addition to the Smart Class, we included drawing, painting, singing, and dance lessons to improve the students' well-being.
Qualified teachers and an educational setting with all amenities have been reinstated.
We now need a children's park to provide a sporting environment for rural youngsters, encouraging them to attend school on a regular basis. The school compass will be fenced, and work is nearing completion.
Problem: Smart Class is intermittently disrupted due to a power outage.
To fix the issue, a solar unit must be installed to ensure a continuous power supply.
To restore school normalcy following AMPHAN and YASS, like a mega typhoon, we had to spend a lot of money and are now running out of funding. However, we need $2,000 for the solar unit and the children's park.
Since then, we have gotten nothing from either our donors or GlobalGiving. I respectfully request that you support us and provide financially or in kind to help us achieve the objective of developing youngsters in a distant place.
