Quality education for kids of disadvantaged group

Everybody knows that the onslaught of twin super cyclones like AMPHAN, followed by YASS within a year, destroyed everything in the Sundarbans area. A pandemic like Covid 19 and the lockdown imposed by the administration compelled us to suspend regular activities for more than two years. During such an odd time, we continue our teaching and learning process with regular home visits by the teachers. Home tasks were given regularly and followed up. From March this year, we have been able to start school with day-to-day activities. But to mention here that in between we have to renovate school building destroyed during super cyclone. Learning materials of the school, such as Computers, charts, sports equipment, Blackboard, etc. were damaged. We have to procure all the items for smooth running of the school.
On the other hand, number of school drop out increased considerably because the children moved with their parents in search of job. Thus we are facing trouble in bringing the children back to the school. Another problem with us is to procure learning materials due to scarcity of fund.
In spite of the fact stated above, we are trying sincerely to bring the learning condition in order.
For the academic session 2022, in spite of severe fund constraint, we are trying to provide quality education using modern tehnology and installed one smart board with an eye to give the children best imput of learning. Now the terminal examination is going on. I will come back shortly with the result of the students.
I, once again, pray to the donors anf well-wishers' to stretch out their hand to fulfil a dream of offering world class education to the kids of the underpriviledged group of a highly remote area of the world. Also I convey my deep gratitude to the donors and GlobalGiving for their continious support to us.

After a long struggle with the Covid situation, the school started normal functioning. The school remained close for a long time thus we initiated touch with every student to help them continue their education during the Covid situation. Despite the want of an android mobile phone with students or their parents, availability of internet connection in our locality, running online classes was impossible. Because of the reason stated above, running the education program has become a hard task for us. However, now lockdown is closed. The school started functioning normally. But the strength of students came down to a considerable amount. That's a matter of concern and needs regular follow-up with an awareness program with dropout students and their parents. The poor economic condition of the parents encountering twin attacks of Covid 19 and YASS followed by AMPHAN like a super cyclone changed their priority of living. As a result, children's education has become a secondary issue. We are also facing tremendous financial scarcity for the above-stated reason and could not undertake the needed activities to overcome the problem. However, despite all the stated barriers, we are trying hard to get the job done. Present activities are stated below:-
1. The classes are running six days a week.
2. Cultural activities and sports programs are started regularly.
3. Terminal examination is done.
4. Computer classes are running.
5. Regular evaluation of the home task is done.
On the part of the organizer, we accumulated learning materials, furniture, equipment, etc. to ensure a congenial education environment to some extent. We renovated the destroyed and damaged building. The playground is brought to normal conditions. Even with our all-out effort to ensure the best possible support to students, many things are yet to be done. We need more computers, furniture, sports materials, learning materials, etc for which financial support is needed. Teachers honorarium also a matter of conncern for us due to financial constrsaint. However, we convey our thanks to donors, supporters and wellwishers for supporting us in doing our work to a great extent.
