Education For All In Uganda

ello I am doing carpentry at cogswell school of art and design.

I used to think that I was skilled in the work that I used to do back in the village where I come and grew up from because I could lay bricks, rear almost all kinds of domestic animals, I used to do local village carpentry furniture and I thought i was at the beam, felt like I had made it because I have elder people who would consult from me and at one point I told my fellow agements and friends that the only thing missing is me starting up a consulting firm .

 One day I was approached by a pastor who introduced me to cogswell because he believed that I needed to polish my skills. I had hated being in class because I believed i was I old and could fit in but I was assured that I was to join a vocational institute and It is going to teach me new skills that meet the demand of the labour market in Uganda and the world at large, I am very grateful that I feel like I am skilled and empowered to thrive in my community.

 The entrepreneur skills that I have acquired from this vocational institute are going to enable me start up a viable furniture business with high profits and better working conditions and all of this is because I have attained upshift skills and it is all because of another hope children’s ministries

That restored my hope by sponsoring me through a vocational training that taught me new skills and introduced me to new furniture tools that I never thought existed.
