A Hopeful Tomorrow for Wincey
At just 17 years old, Wincey Wambui has faced unimaginable loss and hardship. Yet, her unwavering determination to excel in her studies paints a picture of resilience and hope, even in the darkest of times.
A Family Struck by Tragedy
Wincey is the second child in a family of three sisters. Her elder sister, Nesmith Njambi, 22, was born disabled due to prolonged labor and attends Pangani Special School in Nakuru through a generous sponsorship. Abigail Amani, the youngest, is in Grade Four. The three sisters were lovingly raised by their single mother, Virginia, who worked tirelessly to provide for them.
On August 5, 2024, the family’s life was forever changed. Virginia tragically fell victim to a serial killer who terrorized the Rongai and Nakuru West sub-counties. She had left home early that morning to care for her ailing daughter, Nesmith, only to be found later that day in a maize plantation near their home. The suspect, linked to a cult, confessed to this and three other murders, citing rejection and other motives for his heinous crimes.
Virginia’s untimely death left her daughters orphaned and in the care of their elderly grandparents, who are unable to work. The family now struggles to meet even their most basic needs, including food and school fees.
Wincey’s Unwavering Determination
Despite these immense challenges, Wincey remains a shining star. She is currently in Form Three and consistently performs at the top of her class. Her academic excellence is a testament to her strength and commitment to building a brighter future for herself and her family.
Wincey’s potential is undeniable, but without support, her dreams may be cut short. Boarding school offers her a safe and stable environment where she can focus on her education, free from the instability at home.
How You Can Make a Difference
We are reaching out to compassionate individuals and organizations to help sponsor Wincey’s boarding school fees. Your support will cover her tuition, accommodation, meals, and school supplies, ensuring she can continue her education without interruption. We have paid her first term fees for 2025. However, the annual cost to keep Wincey in boarding school is $600.00 US. This amount does not include the monthly incidentals a 17 year old girl needs.
By contributing, you are not only investing in Wincey’s future but also honoring the memory of her late mother, Virginia, who sacrificed so much for her daughters. Together, we can help Wincey rise above her circumstances and become a beacon of hope for her family and community.
Join Us in Transforming Wincey’s Future
Your generosity will have a profound and lasting impact. Every contribution brings Wincey closer to achieving her dreams and breaking the cycle of hardship.
Let us come together to ensure Wincey has the chance to thrive, just as her mother would have wanted.
Warmest regards,
