CUF Childcare & Community Centres Update - June-Aug'18

Child care center Decoration:

The child care centers were decorated for the new academic year by the child care center teachers. Stationary materials, decoration items and toys were purchased for the academic year 2018-2019.        

Preschool Education:

The child care center reopened on 4th June 2018 for the new academic year 2018-2019. The current strength of the children in all the five child care center is 147.

Book distribution:

All the children in the child care centers were provided with 6 set of books for the academic year 2018-2019. The total amount spent on the books was Rs. 29,478/-

  1. Alphabet Handwriting book- Capital letters
  2. Number writing 1-10 Practice book
  3. Nursery rhymes book
  4. My word picture book
  5. Drawing book
  6. My first colouring book

The teachers of the child care centers were provided with the reference books. The total cost of the books was Rs.1,550/-

  1. Early learning activities

  3. Nursery Rhymes and stories
  4. Allied Rhymes- Part 1

Parents Meet:

In the month of June mothers meet was conducted in all the child care centres and the teachers gave a brief introduction about the CUF (Concerns universe foundation) services. In July, the parents meeting was regarding the importance of health and hygiene among children. In August, the meeting was regarding the importance of nutrition and the consequences of malnutrition in children. Teachers also demonstrated the recipe preparation of high protein mix for the parents.

Volunteers at child care center:

Three students from the US volunteered with CUF for a period of two weeks. They taught the children in the centres' songs, rhymes, and artwork. They also conducted group games and relevant health sessions for children.

Friendship day and Independence Day celebration:

The Early Childhood Care and Education students from Concerns Community College celebrated Independence Day in the child care centres. Some of the activities included children dressing as national leaders, creative activities, distributing greeting cards and sweets.

Tuitions:

Children from U.K.G to the 5th standard are taking tuition classes in the child care centre. Currently, 44 students benefit from the tuition classes.

Children’s Assessment:

The childcare centres conducted the first assessment for the academic year 2018-2019. Height & weight percentiles were recorded. The teachers did the assessment in their respective centres.
