GRACE Cares gives our deepest thanks to all who donated to support the work of empowering local leaders directing grassroots initiatives in their communities. Specifically, your donation helped us to support local heroes at YOCUPA (Youth Cultural Promotion Association) in Zambia as they develop a strategic plan that will lead them toward continuing to build their Theater for Community Action program, which uses theatre to prevent sexual and gender-based violence. Through their targeted strategies, YOCUPA plans will bring their unique approaches to additional communities in Zambia in the coming year.
Your donation also allowed GRACE Cares to provide direct technical assistance to the Munali Youth Empowerment Program (MYEP), also in Zambia, as they lay the groundwork for opening a new learning resource center for elementary-aged children. Recently, MYEP surveyed over 100 parents in the local community to learn more about their children’s learning needs – information that will ensure that the resource center is designed to meet the specific needs of children in the area.
And we aren’t stopping there! We have much work to do as we continue to support local heroes. Thank you for making it possible.
