In our field, we get to meet a lot of bright people.
One of them is Alejandra L. Portillo Taylor, the Founder & Executive Director of The Spark Foundation. Alejandra's foundation supplies solar-powered lamps to educators in communities lacking electricity.
The Spark Foundation was able to raise $2,500 which was used to purchase, ship, and deliver solar powered lanterns to our Nyaka and Kutamba primary schools! Awesome!
Ali is just one example of brilliant supporters and donors just like YOU, a valued and dynamic group of people pulled from all demographics! Though she is already the Founder & Executive Director of The Spark Foundation, Alejandra is currently enrolled at Kalamazoo College. She's got it all--brains, ambition and a big heart!
"When Twesigye Jackson Kaguri came to Kalamazoo College and talked about his work in Uganda and his non-profit, The Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project, I knew immediately that our organizations had the potential to collaborate in a meaningful and impactful way," she said.
Alejandra and The Spark Foundation have helped to brighten up the future of our students by improving the lives of their teachers!
And so have YOU! Every time YOU donate, YOU bring a shining smile to the faces of all our students, grannies and community members!
THANK YOU!
P.S. Mark your calendars! Global Giving will have their first matching day of the year on March 13th! Give a gift on that day and will match your donation up to 30%! That's good news for everyone!
