YOU are preparing students for their futures!
Uganda's education system requires every student leaving primary school to take a test before they are allowed to go to secondary or vocational school. Students who score very well are accepted into the best secondary and vocational schools in the country. Students who test poorly may not be accepted into a school at all. Although many of these students are able to find apprenticeships to learn trades, they are more likely than their more educated peers to remain in poverty.
For the second year, Nyaka's students will be attending the Nyaka Vocational Secondary School. (Learn more about the school on its Global Giving project page!) However, this national testing is still a great opportunity to evaluate how well YOUR students are doing compared to other school systems in the region. YOUR students did very well last year compared to students throughout the country. As you can see from 2014's grades on the bar graph, the vast majority of students earned an A+ or B. All of the students passed.
Not surprisingly, when YOUR 56 primary seven students sat for the Mock PLE exams, both primary schools emerged 2nd in their respective sub counties. They are on track to do just as well this year as they did last year!
YOUR students are excelling academically thanks to the supports YOU provide! YOU should be very proud!
Thank YOU!
