No words could possibly describe how grateful we are for all the support that you give to the underprivileged children of Eswatini. Through your support, we have been able to provide 2 decent meals a day to the more than 30 children that attend Nkhanini NCP daily. Groceries in the form of rice, sugar beans, cooking oil, salt, Mealie Meals, spice mixes, soup, sugar, and soap are provided on a monthly basis at the NCP. These children are also given an opportunity to get a quality preschool education.
UNICEF states that less than 1 in 5 pre-primary-age in low-income countries. This is a tragedy, as universal preschool education sets a strong foundation for learning, helps make the larger education system more efficient and effective, and is statistically shown to support a country’s development. We at the All Out Africa Foundation work hard to provide a preschool education on part with private preschools. We have dedicated staff composed of both paid and community volunteers who provide lessons to students and support the NCP's food and community functions. We’ve also implemented a swimming program once a week for students.
The preschool attendance and enrolment – after a drop during the pandemic – have continued to grow. This would not have been possible without your support during a difficult few years. We also currently financially support 14 students from NCP Nkhanini each year who attend primary school. Their new primary school teachers have confirmed with Eunice Nkambule, our NCP Coordinator, that the children are doing very well. The school has also since been repainted and with the help of AOA international volunteers, the walls were decorated with different kinds of paintings like elephants, handprints and many more.
The NCP has developed into a true multi-function space in the last year. The completion of the electricity installation has allowed us to begin a computer skills program for unemployed youth in and around Nkhanini. This will work in conjunction with the ongoing entrepreneurship and mentorship program focused on aspiring business owners.
Each year we are able to help more than 14 children graduate into primary school. Through your support, more than 45 children from Nkhanini NCP have been enrolled into primary school.
We recently experienced a heavy storm that left the classroom with broken windows and a busted water tank. Thankfully, with your funds, we were able to buy a new water tank and replace the broken window.
We greatly appreciate all of your support.
