Education for Everyone

By Rose Hogan | Project Leader

Working together makes learning fun
Working together makes learning fun

Jambo

Our 2023 school year is underway and the students have returned after a long holiday at home and our classrooms are once again filled with their laughter and learning. It brings us never ending joy to witness the emergence of English amongst our younger students and fluency of our older ones.  We are continually awed at their abilities to successfully master two languages simultaneously and it is because of your continued support and belief in education that we have you to thank.

Class Seven was recently studying the inner workings of the brain and Mr. Kassian was able to use a models we have to help them see the different lobes which in “real life” are only visible to doctors and scientists.  These wonderful science lessons allow the students the opportunities to explore not only the inner workings of their own minds, but to possibly spur interests in a future passion or profession.  Our younger students love working in cooperative groups during writing lessons or when given an opportunity to brainstorm ideas about topics being discussed in class.  Class Six has begun to work with their Learning Partners in New York and look forward to their Friday afternoons on Google Meets.  With the assistance of Mr. Mapigano the students in New York have been able to support the current science and technology teachings going on at school.  The secondary school girls from New York are teaching the students to use search engines and content vocabulary to research information online and continue to discuss the differences between credible and unreliable sources. These learning experiences are life altering and you continue to make a profound difference in each child’s life. Your donations continue to provide a child with an education that would not have been otherwise available to them due to circumstances outside of their control and for that we are forever grateful.

Our children may live on a different continent then you, but their joy, future dreams and classroom energy are all the same.  Their interests continue to be peaked by the content that is presented to them in the classrooms and all are lucky enough to have the opportunity to attend a school where the teachers are able to help support those learners that need extra attention and those that need additional challenges. Our school was build on a dream and that dream continues to come true with your help and generosity.

Ahsante sana for everything.
