Jambo,
It is hard to beleive that Ikirwa School Project is nearing its 10th year in operation. No words could possibly express our deepest gratitude for your contribution to Ikirwa School. This organization exists because of YOU! Your continued financial assistance and volunteerism helps the continuity of our commitment to the students, the school community and its campus construction.
This quarter, we were able to obtain 13 new laptops through one generous donor. Our faculty is constantly reflecting on best practices and professional development and were able to adapt their teaching to incorporate this additional technology. Our Academic Master, Mr. Mapigano, worked tirelessly to develop connections and curriculum with schools from the United States, Germany and Canada to enhance the learning experiences of our students. His dedication and implementation of new learning strategies requires constant review and innovation. We have been flexible to respond to new needs as they arise, and ultimately, advance our students' learning experiences. Class 6 connected with a middle school in New York and worked together to build relationships and connections, which never would have been possible last year. Considering the present times, we understand the importance of learning and exposing the students through technology to encourage Class 5, Class 6 and Class 7 to think globally as they prepare for secondary school and beyond.
Class 7 recently had their graduation and they will be moving on to secondary schools in January. We are sure they did their best on their National Exams and continue to make us proud with their hard work and dedication to their studies. The younger students fill their classrooms with movements based on academic songs and poetry. Their laughter is infectious and echoes throughout campus. On Friday afternoons, our playing field is alive with outdoor activities directed by Mr. Alex, our Health and Sports teacher. This is a wonderful time for all of the children to participate and grow in activities outside of an academic setting.
Finally, without your generosity, we would not have been as successful as we were. Four beautiful new ovens were installed, and we have begun to serve our students from our new kitchen. This would not have been possible without the generosity and support of all donors. We continue to work towards completing construction of the new classrooms, computer lab and library, which will be part of the Dining Hall Annex. Your generosity furthers our mission of ensuring that we build a generation of children who know and believe in our motto, “what you imagine you become.”
There are so many urgent causes in the world today that need support . We are truly humbled and would again like to extend a warm thank you to all donors and supporters for choosing to help our students and our mission We will do our best to not let you down and direct your support to where it will make the greatest difference . Follow our adventures in learning on Instagram@ikirwa.school and Facebook at Ikirwa School Project.
All the best for a wonderful and healthy Fall season.
Rose
