The project will consist of providing educational materials such as school fees, uniforms, books, notebooks, sweaters, pens, pencils etc, to 150 poor orphan schoolgirls in 2 rural areas surrounding Kigali City so that they may be able to stay to school and not go to be babysitters or stay in the streets of the city begging for money. This project will help those poor children girls to get better opportunities to be educated which will help them to get jobs in their future life.
Dalia, a schoolgirl of 13 years old, in 2017 her father who was a carpenter died abruptly in a car accident leaving behind his wife and seven children. Dalia's mother was unemployed and was not also qualified or prepared financially to provide for her family. Dalia was unable to go back to school because it was even harder for the family to pay house rent and to have food enough for all family members.
Giving educational materials and paying school fees to these 150 poor orphan schoolgirls will help them to get equal opportunities for education. The project will help those poor orphan schoolgirls to be conscious towards education. And this will reduce the problem of school drop-out. As the parents or guardians will get help in getting educational materials, they will motivate their children to go to school and get education for their better future.
Education is a key to family and community development. As these 150 poor orphan schoolgirls get major help to get education, they will not drop out of school and they will also get opportunities for higher education thus ensuring them a better future. Being educated, those 150 orphan girls after completing their schooling will have opportunity to have good jobs or set up businesses which in turn will allow them to help other poor orphan schoolgirls to continue their education too.
