In Taiwan, we have two residential children's homes, Mustard Seed Youth Home in Hualien and Agape Children's Home in New Taipei City.
Since the outbreak of 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) has spread worldwide. 26 children in Agape Children’s Home which is located near the capital and the international airport made cloth masks by themselves to fight the disease!
Using non-woven fabrics as filter materials and carefully wash the cloth mask every day, it is efficient for epidemic prevention.
The children said they will use medical masks for some particular purpose such as going to the hospital. For normal days, they would like to put on the handmade cloth masks for daily protection and they hope the way could save more surgical masks for the medical groups, the first line epidemic prevention workers, and weaker people.
Besides, the handmade cloth masks will also be sent as gifts to disadvantaged families and the elderly who The Mustard Seed Mission serves in order to maximize the epidemic prevention cover areas to the vulnerable groups.
We hope everyone could be covered in the epidemic prevention network!
