The key drivers (Poverty, Gender inequality, Unemployment) for Trafficking; Child marriages, drop outs and lack of health and hygiene had unprecedented rise during Covid-19, additionally, movement restrictions and multiple barriers (language, technology etc.) and reduced response services (helplines, police &, legal services) have increased vulnerability amongst individuals and communities who were already at risk and those who were previously not. Without sufficient access to social security systems & institutional supports, they are less equipped to navigate these challenges and adolescent girls and young women are worst affected by the situation.
Jabala is taking initiatives to Capacitate and equipping 450+ girls and young women (prioritizing inclusion of vulnerable girls, out of school and survivors of violence) by supporting school; Knowledge, skill trainings, through interdisciplinary and multidimensional approaches supported by technology, sensitized community & stakeholders participation to equip the girls with right toolkit to deal with gender inequality and violence and strive to take steps to achieve Sustainable Development
Need based direct assistance services to 150+ victims of trafficking and child marriage and case management that include rescue, restoration. shelter, nutrition. counselling, medical and legal aid, etc. for the well-being and active participation that are fundamental to the effectiveness of life cycle approach that can break exclusion; discrimination & violence and providing the opportunity to assert and express themselves to flourish
