Seilin has been attending our centre since February this year. He turned 3 in March.
We noticed that his social skills, gross-motor movement skills and independence were above average in his age group, but that his cognitive skills weren't. This year we have been working with him to create a balance between all three areas of his development.
During the year he has developed the cognitive and motor abilities
Seilin's home language is Afrikaans. We are an English centre.
Seilin has learnt to converse in English in a competent manner. He speaks well and responds appropriately to verbal questions and cues.
He has a developed a good vocabulary set for many different classifications; such as the things in his environment, foods, clothes, actions, animals, plants, etc.
Seilin participates in many verbal language activities preparing him for writing (and in preparation of reading) activities for next year.
Learning a second language at this young age is so important for children.
Seilin has worked hard this year to develop the skills necessary for next year's activities.
We look forward to see what next year shall bring.
