Dear Friends,

Pleased to report some good news! This farm supports the first addiction treatment center in West Africa which has opened! The farm, Gbedavo, is thriving and located 24 km from the treatment center in Dassa, Benin. The center had an informal opening on April 15, 2024.

The Gbedavo, a 70 hectare farm, was purchased in 2021, The planting of multiple crops was completed in December 2023. The construction of the Gbedavo center began in July and the walls were erected in December 2023. Some interior and exterior work is in the process of being finished.

The Grand Opening of the addiction center is scheduled for August 17, 2024. We hope to get back to you with pictures and stories of our visit. When last in Benin in 2020, the center was under construction. This has been a multi-year endeavor with the facility construction, farm, and numerous personnel in the making.
