Mitra Jyothi, a pioneering organization dedicated to empowering visually impaired individuals, continues to make significant strides in providing higher education support. Our mission is to create an inclusive society where visually impaired individuals have equal access to education and opportunities. This year, we are proud to welcome three new recruits: Jayashree, Gangotri, and Nagaveni, who have joined our program to pursue their higher education.
Jayashree, Gangotri, and Nagaveni have completed their 10th grade from the Matoshree Ambubai Residential School for Blind Girls in Gulbarga, Karnataka. Their exemplary performance and determination have led them to take the next step in their educational journey. They are now enrolled in the Government PU College Agara, where they will complete their pre-university education (plus 2).
The girls are provided with boarding and lodging facilities, along with education resources they require like textbooks and other educational materials in Braille, ensuring that visually impaired students have access to the same content as their sighted peers. They also have access to digital resources such as screen readers, audio books, and assistive devices to enhance their learning experience.
We arrange for personalized tutoring in various subjects, helping students to grasp complex concepts and excel academically.
Experienced mentors guide the students through their academic and personal challenges, offering support and encouragement.
To help our students navigate their surroundings independently, they are trained in orientation and mobility, soft skills training like communication, time management, and other essential soft skills to prepare the students for future endeavors.

Through our comprehensive support system, we aim to empower these young women to achieve their dreams and become role models for others.
