INNER STRENGTH TO CREATE INGENIOUS WAYS OF LIVING

By Maria del Rosio Garcia Rodriguez | Project Leader

Exercising walking with various supports

“Disability is not a brave struggle or courage in the face of adversity. Disability is an art. It's an ingenious way to live” Neil Marcus

The future marks a challenge, this implicit and often uncertain challenge for all of humanity acquires moments of collective reflection in the futures of children who live with neuromotor disabilities. For years we have been building possible futures at ConNosotros, for our students' families and for themselves in society. And why not say it? for learning about the society that contains us: the territory of the State of Morelos. We realize this when we see professionals with cerebral palsy who have graduated as psychologists, administrators and anthropologists; when we see a successful writer who becomes his own writing of his emotions and experiences, with such force that they become universal. Our examples in this territory that we inhabit are meeting others in the country, on the continent. The world is changing and that fills us with energy to continue Conducted Education with children that comes to our Educational Center called ConNosotros.

Inventing ingenious ways to live

A radio host in the Morelense Radio and Television System, anthropologist, poet and with cerebral palsy as a living condition, makes weekly programs where she is documenting What is it like to live with a disability? We invited him to school because one of our 16-year-old students in online high school began to imagine his future. What would you like to be when you grow up? And in one class he said: “I would like to be a presenter, but I don't know if I can do it with cerebral palsy.” Another 19-year-old student said: “I would like to be a writer.” She has just joined ConNosotros. She comes to the Scholl specifically to enable your movement to continue at the University. So with two students who dream of being something that the anthropologist and poet is already doing, she could promote something. So, N came to the school and interviewed these students and talked to all the kids. She shared her experience, the way her father has given her strength by letting her be what she chooses and giving her a lot of effort, since she had to learn to pronounce words well and master her hand. And he encouraged them to continue with the exercises that their teachers facilitate, because only with the strength that is achieved in the midst of cerebral palsy will they achieve their dreams. Life is an Art.

Multiple forms of movement enablement
