We are proud to announce that through our global giving platform and outside donations we have not only successfully met our matching campaign goal but surpassed it!
Every dollar amount donated went directly to funding the education of our scholarship students who come from diverse backgrounds, both culturally and socio-economically.
Our incoming class of 2020 has over 40% of students with full scholarships. That is all thanks to this matching donor campaign! These scholarships are vital to our mission of making education a force to unite ALL people, nations, and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.
We received donations from alums, parents of alums and students, past and present board members, past and present staff, as well as continuing support from repeat donors!
This matching fund was also made possible because of the generous matching donors, the Costa Rican family and the Shelby-Davis foundations' ongoing support.
We welcomed Class 2019 & 2020 this past August. In the attached video you can see some images of the arrivals of some first years students to campus. From camps to tournaments and finally classes (with so much more in between), the campus has been alive with the spirit and diversity that comes along with the talented and gifted students you supported.
We are now a few weeks into the new school year here at UWC Costa Rica and what an amazing few weeks they have been! Classes are underway in Costa Rica. Halls are full of joy and happy faces on their ways to classes.
"Tuesday Night Dinners with Head and Deputy Head of School", started last week, where new students can share their backgrounds and dreams with our Head and his family and our Deputy Head
These are very exciting times. We are witnessing the development of a new generation of agents of change."
