Raad... A Child Bearing His Family's Burden in a Time of Hardship

By MUHAMMED DEEBEH | Project leader

Dear Donor,

On the outskirts of Suran city in northern Syria, many makeshift shelter centers have been set up randomly, lacking the basic necessities of a decent life. Yet, they are still considered a better alternative than living in tents that provide no protection from heat or cold.

In one of these poorly built homes lives Raad, a young boy who shares the burden of life with his mother and grandmother. Despite his young age, Raad works at a car repair workshop in Suran, barely managing to cover his family’s basic expenses.

His mother, who lost her husband, tries her best to support him by taking on any job she can find, but their income is barely enough to survive.
Raad has been deprived of continuing his education due to their harsh living conditions, and now bears responsibilities far beyond his years.

Thanks to your support, we were able to provide Raad’s family with a complete food basket, helping them meet some of their daily needs and offering a sense of food security amid their difficult reality.

But the need is still great, and many other families are going through similar suffering. Your continued donations are their only hope, and the only guarantee that children like Raad can survive with dignity.

Thank you for your generosity and kindness. You are making a real difference in the lives of those in need. May God reward you abundantly.
