Khalil: A Dream Facing the Hardships of Displacement

By MUHAMMED DEEBEH | Project leader

Dear Donor,

In the rural outskirts of Suran, northern Syria, informal camps stretch across the landscape, lacking even the most basic necessities of life. Hundreds of displaced families struggle daily to secure food, shelter, and stability amid worsening conditions and scarce resources.

A Difficult Life and a Big Dream
Among these children is Khalil, who lives with his mother and sister in one of these makeshift camps. His mother works tirelessly as a seamstress, doing her best to provide for her children despite the lack of resources and irregular work opportunities. But the hardships remain overwhelming.

A Talent Waiting for a Chance
Despite these challenges, Khalil carries a big dream. He loves to draw and aspires to become an art teacher one day. In his free time, he holds his simple pencils and sketches on any paper he can find, expressing his dreams and hopes through art—despite the harsh reality he faces.

Your Generosity Has Made a Difference
Thanks to your donations, we were able to provide a full food basket for Khalil’s family, easing their burden during these difficult times.

The Importance of Continued Donations
But the need remains great. Many children like Khalil have big dreams, yet they live in dire conditions that prevent them from achieving them. With your support, we can provide food, hope, and a chance for a better future. Thank you for your generosity—you are making a real difference in the lives of these children, helping them hold on to their dreams despite the hardships.
