Dear Donor,
On the outskirts of the city of Souran in northern Syria, where all you see is rubble and pain, young Jihad lives with his mother and three siblings in a makeshift home, its roof made of tarps that offer no protection from the summer heat or the winter cold. Jihad, a child at heart, took on the responsibility of his family after losing his father in an airstrike. He now works collecting plastic waste and selling it, desperately trying to secure food for his family.
Jihad once dreamed of becoming a doctor, a dream that soared high above the poverty and devastation surrounding him. But the harsh reality has turned that dream into something unattainable. In his small world, all he sees is destruction and loss, with a hope that faded with his father’s death and a reality that forces him to grow up far too quickly.
Thanks to your generous support… the family was able to catch their breath
Through your donations, we were able to provide Jihad's family with a food basket that will sustain them throughout the month of Ramadan. This basket was more than just food; it was a balm for their hearts, which had become accustomed to hunger. It was a message of hope and help when life seemed to have abandoned them. The bread wasn’t the only thing we brought; it was a glimmer of hope in Jihad's heart, his mother's, and his younger siblings'.
But the journey is still long…
Jihad and many other children like him are still in desperate need of ongoing support. Thousands of children in Syria continue to face unbearable conditions, losing their childhood before they even have a chance to live it. Your continued donations mean that hope will stay alive in the hearts of these children, and life will persist despite all the challenges.
Thank you from the depths of our hearts
To every hand that extended kindness, to everyone who helped change Jihad and his family’s life, we offer our deepest thanks. You are the ones making a difference, the ones who saved families waiting for a glimmer of hope in the dark. Let us continue together in supporting these children, because every donation is a step toward rebuilding life and hope.
With sincere appreciation
