Mohammed... A Child Struggling to Support His Family in a Cold Tent

By Hasan sadk | Project leader

Dear Donor,

As temperatures drop, the suffering of displaced families in northern Syria worsens. Many endure the harsh winter in makeshift tents that offer little protection from the cold and rain.

Thanks to your generous support, we were able to provide a complete food basket to Mohammed’s family, containing essential items such as flour, lentils, rice, oil, and pasta, helping them secure their basic nutritional needs for a period of time.

Mohammed, a 13-year-old boy, found himself responsible for his family after losing his father to cancer last year. He lives with his mother and two sisters, Noor and Fatima, in an informal camp on the outskirts of Suran. Their tent barely shields them from the freezing cold. Despite his young age, Mohammed works in an auto repair shop to provide for his family. When we asked him about his dreams, he replied with sadness in his voice:
"I always wanted to become a doctor, but I have to work to provide a decent life for my mother and sisters."

There are thousands of children like Mohammed, forced to bear burdens beyond their years, living in conditions that lack even the most basic necessities. Your continued support gives these children and their families a glimmer of hope and the chance to live with dignity.

On behalf of Mohammed and his family, we sincerely thank you for your kindness and generosity, which make a real difference in the lives of those in need.

With many thanks
