We deploy disaster relief trailers across the country—that’s a lot of territory to cover! We started this project because we knew adding another trailer to our fleet was critical to bolstering the efforts of our existing trailers, bringing much-needed equipment and a trained Disaster Aid Response Team (DARTs) to disaster locations. Access to regional trailers allows us to respond quicker and more efficiently when disaster inevitably strikes. We are happy to report that you agreed additional trailers was a smart solution and helped us fund, not just one, but two fully-equipped disaster relief trailers!
The first trailer that was commissioned went to New Braunfels, Texas, which is well-positioned and properly equipped to respond to floods, tornadoes, fires, and other natural disasters that occur in that region. We have previously worked with volunteer emergency responders in that area, having received the help of the New Braunfels Club during Hurricane Laura in Louisiana. They plan to join the efforts of DAUSA in a more permanent way and we are thrilled to have their support!
The second disaster relief trailer is currently being stocked and will be heading to the Florida/Alabama panhandle region where it will be specially outfitted to respond to hurricane emergencies. We are on track for its arrival to that region by the end of the summer.
Thank you once again for being a part of the solution and ensuring DAUSA can continue to respond when disaster strikes.
With sincerest thanks,
Larry Agee
DAUSA Executive Director
