Disaster Aid USA (DAUSA) Relief Trailers are positioned throughout the U.S. to provide immediate aid, such as debris removal, road clearing, roof tarping, meal prep, and more to those affected by a natural disaster. A team of trained response volunteers accompany trailers to disaster locations, equipped with tools tailored to the response needs of each region. The trailers serve as a mobile base of operations helping to rebuild communities and restore safety after a natural disaster strikes.
Natural disasters will always strike and those affected require immediate relief in the form of humanitarian aid. DAUSA's role differs from that of first responders in that our team of volunteers are responsible for the 'mucking and gutting' of a disaster area, like removing debris, tarping damaged roofs and supplying access to safe drinking water. The US is a vast territory with many different disasters. Another trailer will help us respond with more personnel and equipment in a timely manner.
The purchase and equipping of a Disaster Relief Trailer, DAUSA will support deployments in the U.S. affected by natural disasters such as floods and tornadoes. A fully-stocked Relief Trailer can travel to regions across the country to bolster efforts of existing DAUSA Relief Trailers. The Relief Trailers not only bring needed relief supplies to an affected area, but they also serve as a base of operations for DAUSA volunteers to coordinate with local emergency response teams.
The deployment of an equipped Relief Trailer allows the Disaster Aid Response Team to quickly assess the needs of the people suffering from the effects of a disaster to minimize human suffering, potential financial impacts, and loss of life. Relief Trailers, along with the supplies and volunteers it brings to disaster locations, encourages a partnership with other emergency response volunteers who are able to effectively work with local emergency responders.
