HOPE Africa and some of the boys of Bishops’ College visited the OWL Haven Shelter to witness the impact of the floods on the lives of those living on the edges of societies. It was the first time for most of the boys to visit a shelter. They spent the morning listening to the residents of OWL Haven, an activity which both residents and boys thoroughly enjoyed. Due to heavy rain the boys were not able to work in the food garden – something they very much looked forward to. We hope that they will be back on their own in the near future to work alongside the residents.
Supplies of tea, coffee, milk and sugar were donated aplenty as the boys felt it was something that will keep them warm during the harsh winter months. We also supplied cleaning material as well as dignity pack for the women of the shelter.
We are certain that this partnership of the Haven and the boys will strengthen and continue for years to come.
God Bless.
